Google Glass is just being released to a relative handful of people right now, but app developers are wasting no time dreaming up possible uses.

One such developer, Vectorform, has shared a few such concepts with Mashable. The Detroit-based company has dreamed up some uses for athletes, DIYers and students, among others. Some of the ideas are outlined above. Kevin Foreman, director of product development at Vectorform, says the company expects to get a pair of Google Glasses in a few weeks. After that, designers hope to get to work putting the ideas into action.

During SXSW last month, Google held a session entitled “Building New Experiences With Glass,” where it offered developers information about Glass’ Mirror API, and demonstrated some of the apps that are already in development for Glass, such as Gmail, Path, and Evernote.

On Thursday, Google posted a video from that event on YouTube in full, giving everyone the opportunity to learn a little more about Glass and, more importantly, allowing developers to discover what will go into coding for the high-tech spectacles.

Led by Google’s Senior Developer Advocate Timothy Jordan, the hour-long discussion explains not only the code involved in creating apps for Glass, but also what Google is looking for in Glass apps.

You can watch the event in its entirety in the video above. If you don’t quite have an hour to spare, you can also check out our SXSW article from the event for a textual recap.

Google recently sent out invitations for some to receive early access to Glass. It's expected to be released to developers in the coming months.
